DeWayne Whitehead Presentation: “Sailing and Whaling in the 19th Century”
DeWayne Whitehead, docent and lecturer at the Peabody Essex Museum, will present a one-hour Power Point presentation entitled “Sailing and Whaling in the 19th Century” at 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 9, at the Marblehead High School. He will be speaking about how America entered into the China Trade and then the evolution of whaling, ship architecture, and how whaling developed into an industry in New England.
