Teen Events

We offer monthly events for teens, including crafts, movies, and book groups. Past programs include Candy Sushi, Fortune Telling, Book-making workshops, sewing workshops, Henna, and Cupcake Decorating. We also offer a monthly Teen Literature Book Club for adults who love to read YA!

 

MARCH 2019 PROGRAMS

Teen Advisory Group (TAG)
Thursdays, March 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th, 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Teen Room (Lower Level)
For grades 7-12

This group of teen volunteers helps the Teen Librarian plan events, choose items for the collection, decorate the Teen Room, and complete work projects in the Library. The Teen Room is YOUR space – come help us make it awesome!

 

Process Art Week
Monday, March 11th – Friday, March 15th
Drop in 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm
For grades 7-12

Process Art is art that doesn’t rely on a specific outcome. The most important part is making, not what you make! All week, we’ll have supplies and ideas available for different projects that rely on process: pour painting, alcohol ink dripping, melted crayon art, and more!

 

M&M Madness
Wednesday, March 20th, 3:00 – 5:00 pm
For grades 7-12

Get your brackets ready! We’re going to put some M&Ms to the test! Which kind tastes best? What color survives crushing best?? Who can move the most M&Ms from one plate to another in one minute using only a straw??? Will we get through any of these tests before we eat all the M&Ms????

Whether you’re single, dating, or it’s complicated, everyone loves movie day! Stop by for snacks and the chance to see some classic teen romance movies from the 80s and 90s.

Blind Date with A Book

Stuck in a reading rut? Come check out one of our blind date books! The books will be wrapped, with just a few hints on the outside. Pick one that looks interesting, and give it a chance. It may just be the literary love of your life!
